My Musical Journey

From stages to studios, pits to processionals, I have made a name for myself being a musical chameleon. Over the two decades I have been a working musician I have found myself as a function bassist, tribute band guitarist, upright bassist in theater pits, background vocalist, solo looping instrumentalist, arranger, studio engineer, sound tech & music educator. Music and music technology has been an interest I have pursued with much avidity.

I have found myself on stage or in the studio with some truly remarkable musicians and outfits throughout my tenure. These include function bands such as Aftershock and the Simone Band NYC, in addition to singer-songwriters such as Valentina Sounds, Miss Milo and Reuben Toadstool. I write and perform in the funk rock collective Honey Wild and frequently back up Michelle Foster in her tribute to Carole King titled Welcome Home and Sweet Seasons: A Carole King Christmas.

As an educator...

Even though I've been teaching music professionally for only 3 years, I've been teaching in some capacity for a very long time. I've worked as an academic tutor, both a private & team athletic coach and teach both building and animal husbandry on our family farm. I have been referred to as a "natural teacher" by many. I had originally planned to go to college for music education, and looking back it's easy to see how inevitable it was the whole time! I'm extremely passionate about seeing my students succeed. The vicarious satisfaction of achievement is infectious to me and I strive to help each individual student exceed their own expectations.

I currently reside in the agrestic Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, where I tend to a schedule of gigs & lessons in addition to running our family homestead, Sanctuary Hill Farm. Whether you're looking to enrich your life by playing an instrument, planning a studio session or want background music for a special occasion, reach out and let's see how we can work together!
